Getting Started
Steps to a Successful Integration using the API
Get Started
Get an API access key by Signing Up for a Developer Hub Account.
An API access key is automatically created that can be used immediately for API testing.
Note: A Developer Hub account and an EAN affiliate account are two separate accounts.
- A developer account allows beta access to the API until you're ready to launch.
- An EAN affiliate account allows production access sales with paid commissions to the registered affiliate.
Is the EAN API for Me? or should I use the EAN Private Label Template?
Manage Your Account
1. Manage developer account settings by updating your email or password when logged into your EAN developer account.
Note: The email address in the account will be the address that receives any EAN Developer Hub newsletters or critical API notices.
- There is a maximum limit of 100 key assignments per account including any deleted keys.
- The developer account also includes access to any Mashery.com powered APIs.
2. Manage API keys, delete or create any new keys.

3. Manage API applications, delete or create any new applications.

Build Your Application
1. Choose your Integration Method:
- Use both the API and the EAN White Label Template to create a Hybrid Site
- Create a site or app using the API from search through booking fr a fully customized and branded approach.
2. Start Testing
- All beta testing is done with CID 55505 and your own API key
- Use any programming language or code you wish in either XML, JSON, or SOAP format.
- Request/Response outlines for all service types detail all elements and data in the path with instructions for using each one.
- Study the examples provided.
3. Try out the XML Sandbox
More Learning Tools
Typical Shopping and Booking Path can be used for planning:
Service Options Diagrams outline where to make specific data or content selections:
Note: Data flow typically starts with the Hotel List request by searching for availability or creating a landing page displaying a dateless list of properties in a destination.
Hint: Use the Best Practice guides and the Launch Requirements Checklist during your development to save time correcting mistakes or fixing issues in the end.
- Additional helpful advice can be found under Planning Your Integration.
- To use static content locally, download any of the Database files.
Complete the Checklist
Complete the Launch Requirements.

There are separate lists for both Merchant and Agency inventory.
- Following these checklists while programming will expedite your approval to launch.
- Do not submit a request for review until all items are fully satisfied.
Missing info and incorrect items delay commercial access.
Finalize Your Launch
This is the most critical step to a successful integration.
- Sign up for an EAN affiliate account if you do not have one.
- Fill in the Application Form with all information.
- Enter your own CID in the Application Form.
- Request Approval To Launch.
The CID is required to set commercial access.
Missing info delays commercial access.

When you are approved to launch, we will:
- Set the status of your API key for commercial access
- Set your API key with the CID in the Application Form
- Notify you by email
Final Steps
Once approved to launch, follow these final steps:
- Update all API requests to use your own CID.
- If using IP Authentication, update and maintain your server's requesting IP addresses in the Application Form at all times.

Failure to book with your own CID results in lost sales on static bookings.

Note: The server's requesting IP address isn't always the domain IP address.
What is the difference between Beta and Commercial access?
| Developer Mode | Commerical Site Mode |
|---|---|
| Beta Access | IP Pro or Signature Pro Authentication |
Use CID 55505 with your API Key Beta Access Quotas: 5 calls per second All bookings generate a static or void test booking regardless of the data submitted. |
Use your own CID with your API Key Access is authenticated with one of two methods:
Pro Status Quotas for live websites and applications: 40 calls per second Live bookings can be placed when submitting valid payment data. |
